Our Experience
Sometimes, you stumble upon a place that does more than simply provide shelter. It touches you, calms you, and inspires you. This is exactly how I felt visiting Roland and Michèle at their guest house "dimensions M," nestled in a peaceful corner of Walloon Brabant, right across from an open field. The silence, the greenery, the balance of the place – everything invites you to disconnect.
Roland and Michèle are former scientists who designed their guest house the way one builds a life project. They imagined everything themselves: the gentle warmth of the underfloor heating, the three-circuit water management system, the large bay windows that flood the rooms with natural light. You can feel that nothing has been left to chance.
The bedrooms reflect the rest of the house: high quality, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. Their minimalist yet warm style incorporates subtle geometric shapes, a nod to their scientific background. It's a discreet but present comfort that enhances the feeling of serenity and balance.
And then there's the garden. Large enough to feel liberating, it breathes serenity. It extends the spirit of the house: geometric, calming, open. In the evening, you can sit there and watch the sunset. It's simple, and it's beautiful.
What I really loved about the place was them. Roland and Michèle are absolutely charming - welcoming, discreet but attentive, always with a smile. They genuinely love having guests. They have endless stories to tell, but never overdo it. You can really feel that they go out of their way to make everyone comfortable.
In the morning, around the large table, they offer a made-to-order breakfast, with homemade jams (the raspberry and redcurrant jelly stand out). If the mood is chatty, Roland will crack a joke or tell a story. Otherwise, he knows how to respect the silence.
With them, there's no fuss. No overly formal service. Just authenticity. They do everything: meals, cleaning, shopping, emails. In the evening, they can also offer a customized dinner, which they carefully prepare themselves. They try as much as possible to use local producers and prioritize organic, seasonal products. And despite all this, they take their time. Time to say hello, exchange a few words, offer a glass of wine at the end of the day.
This isn't a hotel; it's a temporary home. A place where you breathe, where you take care of yourself without thinking about it. A place you want to return to.
