Our Experience
It's while driving through fields, meadows, and small villages that you arrive at the Domain of the Three Linden Trees. Just forty minutes from Brussels, you find yourself in the heart of the Belgian countryside, where a change of scenery is immediate. The radiant May weather certainly plays a part. I pass under the branches of a wooded path, and around the bend stands a majestic building: the family château of the Three Linden Trees.

This is Tanguy.
Tanguy is a committed host, both rooted in this territory he knows by heart and resolutely focused on the future. He inherited this place steeped in history and made it his life project. The château has been in his family since 1860. For a century, it was a working farm. Then his grandparents, Brussels natives who fell in love with the place, restored it to make it their home. His mother grew up here and still lives here today. This place has seen generations come and go, and that's precisely what Tanguy wants to share: a living history, a transmitted heritage, a place that evolves without ever betraying itself.
Under his leadership, the estate has transformed into an eco-responsible refuge, at the intersection of hospitality, nature, and heritage. Here, everything is designed with sustainable tourism in mind. Environmental impact is reduced to a minimum: composting toilets, rainwater collection, phytopurification, efficient heating, sustainable materials. The domain also actively participates in preserving local biodiversity: planting hedges, stabilizing riverbanks, protecting bats, choosing plant species beneficial to local wildlife and animals. This isn't greenwashing—it's a sincere, thoughtful, embodied commitment.
The eco-responsible accommodation offerings on-site reflect this project: human-scaled, warm, and respectful of living things. There's a small cottage for two people, nestled in the château. Four wooden cabins, cozy and well-insulated, can accommodate up to four people each. Each is equipped with a kitchenette, a rooftop, a small living room, and two cocoon-like sleeping areas. A community cabin completes the ensemble: a large equipped kitchen, living room with wood stove, game corner, covered terrace with fire pit for marshmallow evenings (very popular with younger guests). Wood is provided, of course. And as a bonus, a sauna with a view of nature, freely accessible to all guests. The experience doesn't end there: eventually, Tanguy plans to build new forest cabins, more secluded, to offer unusual accommodation in the heart of nature.
When it comes to meals, the approach is flexible, local, and relaxed. Breakfast can be delivered to your door each morning in a well-stocked basket. For other meals, there are several options available à la carte and on request: simple or more elaborate prepared dishes made by local artisans and restaurants in the area. All sourcing is done through short supply chains: the village butcher, local farms for yogurt and jams, two artisanal bakeries, and a bulk store for dry goods. All the basics are included with your stay: organic coffee from a local roaster, organic tea, and local organic soaps and cleaning products. For those who prefer to cook for themselves, each accommodation comes with its own fully equipped kitchen.
But what Tanguy offers goes well beyond accommodation. The Domain of the Three Linden Trees is an ideal base camp for a nature getaway. Numerous walks start directly from the estate, and Tanguy gladly recommends activities with trusted partners: guided walks, discovery of edible plants, or vineyard visits, such as the Coteau des Avelines. In the surrounding area, you'll find a golf course, abbeys, artisans, and above all, a setting conducive to relaxation and rejuvenation.
This place is a bit of all this at once: a château steeped in history, an inspiring eco-responsible project, a timeless retreat. The Domain of the Three Linden Trees offers a sustainable stay experience in Belgium, where you come seeking authenticity, tranquility, and something genuine.
